Airport Fire Department also on strike
Since 8 o’clock this morning, the Airport Fire Department has also been participating in the strike summoned by the services union Ver.di. For this reason, no take-offs or landings are possible. The Fire Department strike will continue until 11 noon. During this period, there are 47 scheduled passenger flights (22 take-offs, 25 landings).
As of 6 a.m. this morning, sections of the Airport workforce have withdrawn their labour. Due to the all-day warning strike, Cologne Köln Bonn Airport reckons with substantial disruptions to flight operations.
During the strike period from this morning 6 a.m. until tomorrow morning 6 a.m., there are 250 scheduled flights ( 125 arrivals and departures). 76 have already been cancelled in advance. Further cancellations can also happen in the course of the day.
We would kindly ask all passengers to contact their airlines or tour operators to find out if, and to what extent, their flights are affected by the warning strike.
The Airport has also set up a telephone hotline – 02203-40 4000 – for the passengers. Latest information on departures and arrivals will also be available on the Airport’s website at www.koeln-bonn-airport.de.
Note to the editorial offices: The Airport will issue regular updates on the impact of the strike. Information is also available on our Twitter channel @AirportCGN.
