Altered procedures due to police drill
Due to a large-scale anti-terror drill by the Federal Police and the Cologne Police Headquarters, there will be changes for arriving and departing passengers at Cologne Bonn Airport during the night from 20 to 21 November. Terminal operations will also be affected.
The drill will take place in the landside area of Terminal 1 at the Departures and Arrivals level and will not be publicly accessible. Large sections of Terminal 1 will be closed off by the Federal Police. All departures and arrivals will be handled in Terminal 2 that night. Passengers are requested to contact their airlines for details on their flights. Flight operations will not be affected by the drill.
There will also be changes in the way passengers travel to and from the Airport: In the exterior area of Terminal 1, traffic in the entire Departures area will be rerouted in the direction of Arrivals by police forces. The road closure will be upheld from 9 p.m. on 20 November until around 4 a.m. on 21 November. Multi-storey Car Park 1 can be used without interruption, P1A and the short-term parking zone P1 will be closed from 8.30 p.m. on 20 November 2018 until 4 a.m. Car parks P2 and P3 will be available. All landside shops, restaurants, and cafés in Terminal 1 will close at 9.30 p.m., and the terminal will not be available until 5 a.m.
Please address any questions that do not relate to terminal operations or traffic management, but to the drill itself, to:
