Johan Vanneste is the new Chief Executive Officer
At today’s meeting the Supervisory Board of Flughafen Köln/Bonn GmbH unanimously elected Mr. Johan Vanneste (57) as a new member of the Flughafen Köln/Bonn GmbH Board of Management and as its Chairman. The appointment shall be effected no later than 1 June 2018, or in the case of earlier availability, as soon as 1. May 2018, and of course subject to the conclusion of an employment contract.
Mr. Johan Vanneste is an internationally experienced manager in the aviation industry and has been successful in this sector for many years, holding the post of President & Chief Executive Officer of Luxembourg Airport since 2014. Previously, he held senior positions with various cargo and passenger airlines, and also worked as a programme and maintenance manager. Johan Vanneste is a Belgian citizen.
The Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Friedrich Merz, commented on the personnel decision of the Board: “Last Friday’s proposal by the Executive Committee to appoint Mr. Vanneste as the new Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Management was addressed in depth by the Supervisory Board in today’s meeting. The Supervisory Board has today unanimously agreed to the likewise unanimous nomination by the Executive Committee. We are delighted to be gaining such a highly qualified new Chief Executive Officer for our Airport. Important and challenging tasks await him with regard to the future development of the Airport. We also expect of him a change in corporate culture in leadership and personnel management at the Airport and in communication with the general public.
