With the start of the winter flight schedule in autumn there will be a direct connection to Dubai at Cologne Bonn Airport: Eurowings will be flying three times a week to the capital of the emirate on the Persian Gulf from 28 October. The flights will take place every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Return flights to Cologne/Bonn will be on the same days of the week. A modern and efficient Airbus A320neo will be used, which will also be stationed at the airport and will also serve the route to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, which Eurowings will be launching from 4 November.
"Dubai is a destination of outstanding international importance that we have wanted to add to our flight schedule for some time. We are therefore extremely pleased that our partner Eurowings will be launching this route in autumn," says Thilo Schmid, Chairman of the Management Board of Flughafen Köln/Bonn GmbH. of Flughafen Köln/Bonn GmbH. "The new connection to this special destination is an absolute enrichment for our airport and especially for our passengers. With the flights to Dubai and also to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, Eurowings is creating an ideal connection between the Rhineland and the Gulf region, which is attractive for both leisure and business travellers."
"Dubai is our top winter destination. I am particularly pleased that we can now offer direct flights to the Gulf metropolis from our home airport Cologne/Bonn. We added Dubai to our portfolio last year and demand exceeded our expectations right from the start. Thanks to the greater range of our Airbus neo aircraft, we will also be connecting North Rhine-Westphalia non-stop with sunny destinations such as Dubai and Jeddah in future. This will also strengthen our position as Germany's number one holiday airline in the winter season," says Jens Bischof, CEO of Eurowings.
With around 3.5 million inhabitants, Dubai is the most populous of the seven provinces of the United Arab Emirates. The capital has developed rapidly in recent decades, is now a global trading centre and has been one of the most visited cities in the world as a tourism hotspot for several years. Dubai is famous above all for its many skyscrapers - the Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world at more than 800 metres - and numerous beaches, as well as shopping centres, parks and cultural attractions such as museums and theatres. Tours to the nearby desert are also popular.
The flight time between Cologne/Bonn and Dubai is approximately six and a half hours. The route can now be booked at www.eurowings.com for a price starting at 179.99 euros (one way).
