CGN in brief
Cologne Bonn Airport (airport code: CGN) is one of the most important passenger and cargo airports in Germany. It is located in the south of the metropolis of Cologne in the direct neighbourhood of Bonn.
Every year, many millions of passengers start their holiday or business trips from Cologne/Bonn. More than 30 airlines fly to around 120 destinations in almost 50 countries in Europe and beyond.
At the same time, the airport is the logistical heart of NRW. It is located in the centre of one of the largest import and export regions in Europe and is one of the 10 largest cargo airports on the continent. It is also the only German airport at which the major express service providers UPS, FedEx and DHL operate a hub.
The airport is also an important economic factor, an image driver for the Rhineland and one of the largest workplaces in the region. Around 15,000 people are employed by 130 companies, service providers, authorities or the airport company itself.
The airport takes its responsibility in social, ecological and societal issues seriously. Sustainability is an important part of the corporate strategy. The airport will be climate-neutral by 2045 at the latest.
