Airport sponsors the ‘KICK2GETHER EURO CUP’.
Cologne/Bonn Airport is supporting the inclusive football tournament organised by FC Germania Zündorf on Saturday, 8 June. The first ‘KICK2GETHER EURO CUP’ will see 36 teams from 27 clubs from six nations competing under the motto ‘Experience before results’. The patron is the goalkeeping legend of 1 FC Cologne and the German national team, Toni Schumacher. The airport has been a partner and sponsor of the Porz club and its inclusion team for many years.
‘Supporting clubs from the neighbourhood and especially such great events as the inclusion tournament of FC Germania Zündorf are a matter close to the airport's heart,’ says Thilo Schmid, CEO of Flughafen Köln/Bonn GmbH. ‘As we are closely connected with our partners in the region and participation and fairness are also essential aspects of a functioning community for us, we are very pleased to make a contribution to the success of this tournament.’
The ‘KICK2GETHER EURO CUP’ starts on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the sports facility in Zündorf at Heerstraße 9. The football matches offer fun and entertainment, as does the varied supporting programme with live music and free admission, making the tournament an experience for the whole family. Further information can be found on the Facebook and Instagram pages of FC Germania Zündorf.
Also involved in the ‘Business Action Day’ in Porz
In addition, the airport will once again be taking part in the traditional ‘Business Action Day’ in Porz on Friday, 7 June. At this event organised by the Porz Community Foundation, company employees actively support projects in various social institutions in the Cologne district free of charge. Last year, airport employees volunteered to decorate the school garden of the city grammar school, and on Friday painters and other airport employees will be giving the clubhouse of the Rot-Weiß-Porz dance and social club a new coat of paint.
