Restaurant opens as the 18th new unit.
All restaurants, cafés and bars operated by Avolta AG now in service.
The range of services is now complete: the ‘Bistrot’ will officially open tomorrow (Thursday, 2 October) at Cologne Bonn Airport. The new restaurant from Avolta AG, offering international cuisine in Terminal 1, is the final piece in the overall concept for the redesign of the airport's catering facilities. The opening is the last of a total of 18 that have taken place at the airport in recent months.
‘The “Bistrot” completes our new, diverse range of offerings for travellers in both terminals and adds a special touch,’ says Thilo Schmid, Chairman of the Management Board of Flughafen Köln/Bonn GmbH. ‘In the course of the catering tender and the subsequent redesign, we have created a very inviting culinary landscape with innovative concepts in Cologne/Bonn in close cooperation with our partner Avolta. There is something to suit every taste.’
The ‘Bistrot’ – located behind the security checkpoint in departure area C – combines regional ingredients and traditional recipes, creating a symbiosis of local flavours and global trends. Tradition and sustainability meet taste and craftsmanship at the ‘Bistrot’. The menu ranges from sandwiches and focaccia to salads, pizza and pasta, as well as seasonal and regional dishes.
Pizza, sushi and more: a diverse new offering at the airport
The ‘Bistrot’ is the final piece in a comprehensive redesign of the airport's catering facilities, which began last October, gained momentum with the start of the main travel season in spring and has now been successfully completed. The airport and Avolta have implemented numerous new and innovative concepts that take the culinary offering and quality of stay to a new level. The new units include popular brands such as Heberer Wiener Feinbäcker & Traditional Bakery, Le Crobag, Two Tigers, 51 Degrees Bar & Kitchen, Espresso House, Amore Bar & Restaurant, Brewgate, Burger King®, Früh bis spät, Bistrot, Nakha - Taste of Orient and the Mediterranean casual dining concept Terracotta, which opened a few weeks ago.
The redesign is part of the extensive ‘Next Chapter’ programme, with which Cologne/Bonn Airport is giving its terminals a completely new look. In addition to the new catering units, this includes the new security checkpoint, the renovation of the arrival and departure areas, the reopening of the hand luggage exit, the renewal of the furniture and the implementation of modern lounge concepts for travellers and guests.
