New connections to the Black Sea coast: from May, the airline Electra Airways will be flying from Cologne Bonn Airport to two port cities in Bulgaria – Varna and Burgas. Both routes will be served twice a week. The Bulgarian airline will fly to Varna on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 17 May, and to Burgas on Mondays and Thursdays from 19 May.
‘With Electra Airways, we welcome a new airline at Cologne Bonn Airport that offers connections to two popular holiday destinations,’ says Thilo Schmid, Chairman of the Management Board of Flughafen Köln/Bonn GmbH. ’This new partnership enriches our flight schedule and offers our passengers additional travel options.’
Varna, located directly on the Black Sea, is particularly attractive for its beautiful beaches. However, the city also offers historical charm, such as the oldest gold treasure in the world in the Archaeological Museum and numerous attractions such as the impressive Assumption Cathedral, which is the symbol of Varna. Burgas also combines relaxation and culture, with extensive beaches, a charming city centre and numerous museums. The beautiful Sea Garden is also worth a visit.
Flights to Varna depart from Cologne/Bonn at 17:25 on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Flights to Burgas depart from Cologne/Bonn at 12:10 on Mondays and at 19:00 on Thursdays. The flight time for both routes is around two and a half hours. An Airbus A320 will be used for the flights, which Electra Airways is operating in cooperation with SunExpress. While the Bulgarian airline is providing the aircraft and crew, SunExpress is responsible for network planning and sales, among other things. The new flight connections can be booked at www.sunexpress.com as a sales partner of Electra Airways and through tour operators.
