Fly to the Black Sea with Electra Airways

Airline connects Cologne/Bonn with Varna and Burgas – in cooperation with SunExpress

Summer, sun, Black Sea: Electra Airways is now flying directly from Cologne Bonn Airport to Varna and Burgas in Bulgaria. The airline is new to the airport and launched its first two routes in recent days – to Varna on Saturday and to Burgas on Monday. Electra Airways will now fly to both coastal cities twice a week in cooperation with SunExpress.

‘Demand for tourist travel remains very high, so the new travel options to Varna and Burgas fit perfectly into our flight schedule,’ says Thilo Schmid, CEO of Flughafen Köln/Bonn GmbH. ’We are delighted that Electra Airways and SunExpress have successfully launched both routes and are offering our passengers two attractive destinations on the Black Sea.’

Both cities are classic holiday destinations – and offer more than just sun and sea. Varna delights visitors with long sandy beaches, a diverse cultural offering and sights such as the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and the Archaeological Museum with its famous gold treasure. Burgas, also a popular coastal resort, also impresses with its extensive beaches, lively city centre and famous Sea Garden.

Flights to Varna depart on Tuesdays and Saturdays at 5:25 p.m. Flights to Burgas depart on Mondays at 12:10 p.m. and Thursdays at 7 p.m. The flight time on both routes is around two and a half hours. An Airbus A320 will be used. The connections are offered as part of a cooperation between Electra Airways and SunExpress: Electra Airways provides the aircraft and crew, while SunExpress is responsible for network planning and sales, among other things. The flights can be booked at www.sunexpress.com.
