Direct flights to Aleppo have been available since Monday.
New route to Deir ez-Zor from September.
A first and a new route: Today, Monday 17 August, LEAV Aviation launched its first direct service from Cologne Bonn Airport to the Syrian city of Aleppo – and will be adding a further destination to its Syrian service from 1 September: Deir ez-Zor in the east of the country. The airline is thus creating a further direct travel option from Cologne/Bonn, particularly for travellers with family and personal ties to Syria.
LEAV’s first service to Syria took off from the airport on Monday morning with the inaugural flight to Aleppo. The route will operate twice a week – every Monday and Saturday. From 1 September, a second destination, Deir ez-Zor, will be added, with the airline operating non-stop flights there every Tuesday. The city is situated in eastern Syria and is the centre of the region of the same name. This means that Deir ez-Zor is now accessible directly from a European airport for the first time.
An Airbus A320-200 is used on both routes. The flight time is around four hours for each route. Tickets can be booked via the LEAV website at www.leav.com.
