From the Rhine to the Nile: from autumn, Nile Air will be flying directly from Cologne Bonn Airport to Cairo. From 15 October, the airline will bring travellers twice a week from the Rhineland to Egypt’s capital city with its rich history and impressive buildings.

With more than nine million inhabitants, Cairo is the political, economic and cultural centre of Egypt and the Arab world. The metropolis directly on the Nile combines modernity with an ancient past. The old city, which is well worth seeing, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but there are also skyscrapers, luxury hotels and a thriving cultural scene. The pyramids of Giza with the Sphinx, which are among the oldest structures on earth, are in Cairo’s direct vicinity.
Departures from Cologne/Bonn will initially be on Sundays at 17:05 and Tuesdays at 17:30. Arrival in Egypt is at 22:10 on Sundays and 22:35 on Tuesdays (both local times). On these weekdays, Nile Air also flies from Cairo back to the Rhineland. With the start of the winter flight schedule on 29 October, Nile Air will be flying on Thursdays and Sundays from Cologne/Bonn (16:30 each day). Landing in Cairo is at 21:40 (local time) each day. The return flights from Egypt will also take place on Thursdays and Sundays in the winter flight schedule. A modern Airbus A320-200 with two-class configuration will be used.
