New direct connection to the Turkish city starts on 31 October
A new destination on the departure board: Pegasus Airlines will connect Cologne Bonn Airport with Diyarbakir. The route to the city in south-eastern Turkey will be offered from 31 October and will be served once a week, always on Fridays. Diyarbakir is the tenth destination served by Pegasus from Cologne/Bonn.
‘With Diyarbakir, our route network gains a new destination that has a lot to offer culturally and historically,’ says Thilo Schmid, Chairman of the Management Board of Flughafen Köln/Bonn GmbH. ‘Thanks to our partnership with Pegasus Airlines, our passengers now have an additional option for travelling to Turkey – whether for holidays or visits to family and friends.’
Diyarbakir is one of the oldest cities in Turkey and is known for its imposing city walls made of black basalt. In addition to the historic old town with its mosques and bazaars, there are also numerous cafés and restaurants to attract visitors. Its location on the Tigris River and authentic flair make Diyarbakir a special destination for culture lovers. In addition to its history, the city also offers numerous opportunities to get to know Kurdish cuisine and local traditions.
Starting on 31 October, Pegasus Airlines will fly from Cologne/Bonn to Diyarbakir every Friday at 8:10 p.m. Flights from Turkey back to the Rhineland will take place on Saturdays. An Airbus A320 is scheduled to be used. The flight time is around four hours. Flights can be booked now at www.flypgs.com.
