A new direct connection to Turkey: Pegasus Airlines is now flying from Cologne Bonn Airport to Gaziantep. The first flight to the city in south-eastern Turkey took off yesterday, Thursday (20 June). The route will also be served by Pegasus Airlines every Thursday in the coming months.
"Turkey is a key target market for passengers at our airport - both for holiday travellers and for passengers visiting family and friends there," says Thilo Schmid, CEO of Flughafen Köln/Bonn GmbH. "We are therefore delighted that the direct connection from Pegasus Airlines to Gaziantep means that the range of flights to Turkey is now even more extensive."
Gaziantep, located in the south-east of Turkey, is one of the country's largest cities with more than two million inhabitants and looks back on more than 5,000 years of history. Numerous finds from antiquity are on display in the Archaeological Museum, while the Zeugma Mosaic Museum houses a huge collection of Roman mosaics. Gaziantep's landmark is a citadel located on a hill in the centre. The city also has a lot to offer in terms of cuisine: According to UNESCO, Gaziantep is one of the world's most important gastronomic cities.
The flight time between Cologne/Bonn and Gaziantep is around four hours. The flights are operated by an Airbus A320 and a Boeing 737-800 and can be booked at www.flypgs.com/de. In addition to Gaziantep, Pegasus Airlines flies to numerous other destinations in Turkey, including Antalya, Istanbul-Sabiha Gökcen and Izmir.
