Strike: 100 flights cancelled in Cologne/Bonn

Due to the announced ver.di warning strikes, the following flights will be cancelled in Cologne/Bonn tomorrow (Friday, 17 March) according to the current status (17:30) 100 passenger flights (60 take-offs, 40 landings) will not take place. A total of 148 passenger flights (75 take-offs, 73 landings) are normally scheduled. There may be further flight cancellations or diversions as a result of the strikes.

Passengers are urged to check the status of their flight with their airline or tour operator before travelling to the airport. Further information on the flight schedule is available on the airport's website at www.koeln-bonn-airport.de.

The service sector union ver.di has announced warning strikes at Cologne/Bonn Airport in view of ongoing collective bargaining negotiations for public service and aviation security employees. Accordingly, public service employees are called to strike at the beginning of the night shift on Thursday, 10 pm. The strike is to end late Friday evening at 11.59 p.m., and in some areas early Saturday morning.

During the same period, staff at personnel and goods controls are to stop work. For workers at passenger controls, the union has announced a strike from 6am on Friday to 7am on Saturday. The strikes will cause considerable disruption to flight operations.
