From the banks of the Rhine to the Atlantic coast: Starting on May 1, Eurowings will offer a direct connection to Porto from Cologne Bonn Airport. The port city in northern Portugal will be served three times a week – on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. It is the fifth new route that the airline will be adding to Cologne/Bonn in the next summer flight schedule. Eurowings had already announced flights to Bastia on Corsica, Erbil, Funchal on Madeira and Klagenfurt.
“With the addition of the new routes, the range of Eurowings routes at our airport will be even more varied next spring and summer, which we are very pleased about,” says Thilo Schmid, Chairman of the Management Board of Flughafen Köln/Bonn GmbH. ”The newest destination, Porto, with its picturesque old town, is always worth a visit.”
Porto is located directly on the Atlantic coast in northern Portugal and is the namesake for port wine, which is exported from the city all over the world. The historic center, with its winding streets and terraced structure, has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site for many years. The city is also famous and popular with numerous tourists for many other attractions, including the striking Torre dos Clérigos bell tower and a multitude of baroque churches.
On Mondays, flights to Porto depart from Cologne/Bonn at 18:55, on Thursdays at 19:10 and on Saturdays at 18:40. After a flight time of around three hours, the aircraft land in Porto. The flights back from Portugal take place on the same days of the week. The flights are available to book from today, Wednesday, at www.eurowings.com.
