A new connection from SunExpress: Today, Wednesday (26 June), the airline's first flight to Samsun in Turkey took off from Cologne Bonn Airport. SunExpress will be operating the route between Cologne/Bonn and the coastal town on the Black Sea every Wednesday with immediate effect.
"The summer holidays in North Rhine-Westphalia are just around the corner. We are delighted that SunExpress is adding another destination to our flight schedule with the connection to Samsun, just in time for the next wave of travellers," says Thilo Schmid, CEO of Flughafen Köln/Bonn GmbH.
Samsun is located in the north of Turkey on the coast of the Black Sea and is the economic centre of the region. In addition to many museums and numerous other sights, the wide and long sandy Atakum Beach is well worth a visit. The Amisos Hill offers a view over large parts of the city and the diverse nature in the immediate vicinity. Samsun, which was already inhabited in ancient times, also plays a central role in the country's history, as the Turkish War of Liberation began there in 1919.
Flights from Cologne/Bonn to Samsun depart at 7.40 a.m. on Wednesdays and take around four hours. The return flight from Turkey to the Rhineland is also on Wednesdays. The flights can be booked at www.sunexpress.com. SunExpress also flies to many other destinations in Turkey, such as Ankara, Antalya and Dalaman.
