With Wizz Air from Cologne/Bonn to Tirana

Airline to fly three times a week to Albania's capital from December

Fourth new destination in Eastern Europe: Wizz Air will connect Cologne Bonn Airport with Tirana starting this winter. The route to the Albanian capital is already the fourth new route that the airline will add to its upcoming winter schedule, following Bucharest, Skopje and Tuzla. Wizz Air will fly to Tirana three times a week, every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, starting on 16 December.

‘We are delighted about the further expansion of Wizz Air's commitment to our airport: the four destinations in Eastern Europe are an ideal addition to the flight schedule,’ says Thilo Schmid, Chairman of the Management Board of Flughafen Köln/Bonn GmbH. ‘The connections to Tirana, Tuzla, Skopje and Bucharest offer our passengers additional opportunities to reach exciting and culturally diverse destinations directly from Cologne/Bonn.’

‘Today we are making another exciting step for Wizz Air’s network. A new route between Cologne/Bonn and Tirana underlines our strong commitment to providing our passengers with smart travel options and exciting destinations on one of the youngest fleet in Europe. Let’s WIZZ!,’ says Anastasia Novak, Corporate Communications manager at Wizz Air.

Tirana is the political, economic and cultural centre of Albania and captivates visitors with its colourful facades, lively city centre and exciting mix of tradition and modernity. Highlights such as Skanderbeg Square, the Et'hem Bey Mosque, the Clock Tower and the Pyramid of Tirana invite visitors to explore. With Mount Dajti and the green countryside in the surrounding area, a city break can be ideally combined with excursions into nature.

Wizz Air uses modern Airbus A321neo aircraft on its flights to Tirana. Departures are on Tuesdays and Saturdays at 7:55 p.m. and on Thursdays at 3:55 p.m. The flight time from Cologne/Bonn to the Albanian capital is just under two and a half hours. The route to Tirana – as well as the new connections to Tuzla, Skopje and Bucharest – can now be booked at www.wizzair.com and in the Wizz Air app.
