Wizz Air connects Cologne/Bonn with Skopje

Airline to fly to the capital of North Macedonia starting in December.

Another route to Eastern Europe: Wizz Air will soon connect Cologne Bonn Airport with Skopje. The first flight will take place on 15 December. From that day onwards, the airline will fly to the capital of North Macedonia four times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The connection to Skopje is the second new route that Wizz Air will add to its winter schedule in Cologne/Bonn: From 26 October, the airline will initially fly four times a week to Bucharest in Romania (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays).

„We are very pleased that Wizz Air is now offering another attractive connection to Skopje following its return to our airport and the announced launch of the route to Bucharest. With these two routes, we are expanding our route network in Eastern Europe in a targeted manner and creating an even wider choice for our passengers“, says Cenk Özöztürk, Managing Director of Flughafen Köln/Bonn GmbH. „We are also in positive talks with the airline about further possible new routes.“

„We are excited to expand our network from Cologne/Bonn with the launch of flights to Skopje, offering even more affordable and smart travel options for our customers. Skopje is a vibrant destination full of cultural heritage and natural beauty, and we are confident it will be a popular choice for both leisure and business travelers. These additions are aligned with our «Customer First Compass» strategy, which places passengers at the centre of everything we do and supports our goal of expanding access to quality low-cost travel across the region. Let’s WIZZ together to Skopje!“, says Anastasia Novak, Corporate Communications Manager at Wizz Air.

Skopje appeals to travellers with its unique blend of history, culture and modernity. The capital of North Macedonia offers impressive historical sights such as the Stone Bridge over the Vardar River, the Kale Fortress and a picturesque old town with an oriental flair. At the same time, modern buildings characterise the cityscape, making Skopje a place full of contrasts. Surrounded by mountains and only a few kilometres from the picturesque Matka Canyon, the city is also an ideal starting point for travellers seeking relaxation in nature.

The four weekly flights to Skopje, which will commence on 15 December, will be operated by state-of-art Airbus A321neo aircraft, one of the best in the industry. The flight time is around two and a half hours. The route can be booked from today (7 August) at www.wizzair.com. Tickets for flights to Bucharest are also available there.
