‘früh bis spät’ brings even more Cologne lifestyle to the terminal

Regional, welcoming, unique: Today (28 April), Avolta AG's ‘früh bis spät’ brewery officially opened at Cologne Bonn Airport in collaboration with the traditional Cologne brewery Früh Kölsch. Walter Seib (CEO North, Central and Eastern Europe at Avolta), Dirk Heisterkamp (Head of Sales and Marketing at Früh Kölsch) and Airport CEO Thilo Schmid tapped the first Kölsch together, kicking off even more Kölsch lifestyle in the heart of Terminal 1. The concept offers travellers and airport guests a wide selection of local food and drinks.

‘The new ‘früh bis spät’ is a real highlight – because it fits perfectly with our airport and ideally complements the existing offering,‘ says Thilo Schmid, Chairman of the Management Board of Flughafen Köln/Bonn GmbH. “As part of our ”Next Chapter’ project, the airport is currently undergoing a complete facelift – including a total of 17 new dining options that we are implementing with Avolta. This will enable us to create an even higher quality experience for travellers – and bring a genuine piece of Cologne's lifestyle right into the terminal.’

Walter Seib, CEO North, Central and Eastern Europe at Avolta, added: ‘With “früh bis spät”, we are bringing the Cologne lifestyle directly into the terminal – a warm, inviting place where regional cuisine, Cologne hospitality and tradition come together. The partnership with the Früh Kölsch brewery enables us to offer travellers a real taste of the local culture – and create unforgettable moments from the first sip to the last bite.’

The traditional Früh brewery has stood for Rhineland brewing and hospitality for more than 111 years. These values are now also reflected in the airport's catering with ‘früh bis spät’ – through the selection of regional ingredients and the modern interpretation of classic dishes. The menu ranges from freshly tapped Früh Kölsch to non-alcoholic drinks, coffee specialities and spirits to seasonal and regional dishes. For lovers of traditional fare, the concept offers classics such as Sauerbraten with red cabbage, onion roast, baked potatoes in various variations and Halver Hahn. Popular snacks, including a variety of sandwiches, are also on the menu. The relaxed atmosphere of the brewery is also reflected in the design: a combination of rustic, warm elements and modern accents creates a space that invites you to linger.

Further concepts and expansions at the airport

The ‘früh bis spät’ is part of a comprehensive redesign of the catering facilities at Cologne Bonn Airport, which has gained significant momentum with the start of the peak travel season. Avolta is currently implementing numerous new and innovative concepts that expand the airport's culinary offerings. Popular brands such as Heberer Wiener Feinbäcker & Traditional Bakery, Le Crobag, Two Tigers, 51 Degrees Bar & Kitchen, Espresso House, Brewgate in Terminal 2, Amore Bar & Restaurant and other outlets are already welcoming guests. Further concepts such as Brewgate in Terminal 1, Bistrot, Nakha - Taste of Orient and the Mediterranean casual dining concept Terracotta are currently being implemented and will open soon.
