Destinations for every taste: This coming Sunday (26 October), the new winter flight schedule will take off from Cologne Bonn Airport – with new destinations, attractive returnees, and a wide variety of connections. Over the coming months, 22 airlines will fly from Cologne/Bonn to 71 destinations in 30 countries. These include popular year-round classics, typical winter destinations, and real insider tips.
“Our new flight schedule impressively demonstrates how attractive the range of services at Cologne/Bonn Airport is, even in the colder months. With a wide selection of destinations for beach vacations, city breaks, or family visits, we offer passengers a broad spectrum of travel options during the winter months,” says Thilo Schmid, Chairman of the Management Board of Flughafen Köln/Bonn GmbH. “We are particularly pleased that Wizz Air is returning to our airport with four new routes and that the largest carrier, Eurowings, is also expanding its route network.”
Wizz Air returns to Cologne/Bonn with four new routes
The airline Wizz Air is returning with the start of the winter flight schedule and offering four new destinations in Eastern Europe. Starting 26 October, Wizz Air will fly up to four times a week to the Romanian capital Bucharest. Three more destinations will follow in December: Tuzla in Bosnia and Herzegovina (from 12 December, up to three times a week), Skopje in North Macedonia (from 15 December, four times a week) and Tirana in Albania (from 16 December, three times a week). The airline is thus strengthening its connections to Eastern Europe, which is particularly attractive for many travelers from the region – whether for vacations, business trips, or visits to family and friends. Wizz Air will further expand its program for the 2026 summer flight schedule and has already announced another new route with the connection to Podgorica in Montenegro (starting 2 June).
Eurowings now flies to Marsa Alam and more frequently to Dubai
Eurowings, the largest airline in Cologne/Bonn, is also expanding its services. New is the connection to sunny Marsa Alam in Egypt, which will be offered once a week starting 31 October. In addition, Eurowings is continuing two routes from the summer flight schedule: to Erbil, capital of the Autonomous Region of Kurdistan in Iraq (once a week), and to Fez in Morocco (twice a week), which will now also be served during the colder months.
Eurowings is also expanding its commitment to the Gulf region: the popular connection to the Emirate of Dubai will be served four times a week instead of three, and will also be offered beyond the winter flight schedule until mid-May. The route to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia is also returning to the winter schedule and will be served until the beginning of May. In order to meet the high demand, Eurowings is using larger aircraft on this route for the three weekly flights.
Diyarbakir, Yerevan & Co.: Further new additions to the flight schedule
Other airlines are also bringing a breath of fresh air to the winter flight schedule. Pegasus Airlines will add another destination in Turkey, Diyarbakir, from 31 October (once a week). GP Aviation will continue to offer flights to Pristina in Kosovo (twice a week), which will be carried over from the summer flight schedule. Fly One Armenia is also new for the colder season: The airline flies once a week from Cologne/Bonn to the Armenian capital Yerevan – also carried over from the summer flight schedule.
Jet2.com is a permanent fixture at the airport during the cold season: The British airline flies to four destinations in the United Kingdom between 28 November and 2 January. In addition to Manchester (up to six times a week), Birmingham (up to three times a week), and Newcastle (up to twice a week), Leeds-Bradford (up to twice a week) is also back on the flight schedule this winter.
Year-round destinations such as Mallorca, Antalya, and Istanbul will continue to be offered at high frequency in the new winter flight schedule, often with several daily flights. Network airlines such as Lufthansa, Turkish Airlines, Austrian Airlines, and British Airways also offer numerous connections to their international hubs in Munich, Istanbul, Vienna, and London Heathrow.
The winter flight schedule is valid until 29 March 2026.
