New connection to Eastern Europe: Wizz Air will fly from Cologne Bonn Airport to Podgorica starting next summer. From 2 June, the airline will fly to the capital of Montenegro four times a week – on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. The route is the first connection from Cologne/Bonn to the Eastern European country and the fifth new route that Wizz Air is adding at the airport. The airline will also be flying to Bucharest, Tuzla, Skopje and Tirana from the start of the winter flight schedule.
‘The fact that Wizz Air is already offering another new route for next summer in addition to the four destinations that will be added in the coming weeks is a strong sign of the successful development of our partnership,’ says Thilo Schmid, Chairman of the Management Board of Flughafen Köln/Bonn GmbH. ‘With Podgorica, we are adding a new connection to our flight schedule that further enriches the range of services offered by our airport to Eastern Europe.’
Podgorica, the centre of Montenegro, exudes Mediterranean charm and a lively atmosphere. In the old town of Stara Varoš, mosques, winding alleys and historic squares invite you to stroll around, while modern boulevards, inviting cafés and galleries in the wider cityscape contrast with the past. Just over an hour away are the beaches of the Adriatic coast, the impressive Lake Skadar and the picturesque fjord of Kotor – perfect for combining a city break with nature experiences.
Wizz Air will start flying from Cologne/Bonn to Podgorica on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 2 June. Flights from Montenegro back to the Rhineland will take place on the same days of the week. The flight time is around two and a half hours. Modern Airbus A321 aircraft will be used on the new route. Flights can now be booked at www.wizzair.com and in the Wizz Air app.
