Another capital city in the flight schedule: Cologne Bonn Airport now offers a direct connection to Pristina. The airline Trade Air, which serves the route in cooperation with MySky 24, flew it for the first time on Saturday (14 December). In the future, there will be two flights a week – always on Fridays and Sundays – from the Rhineland to the capital of Kosovo.
‘Our flight schedule will be enriched by a further capital city connection and an attractive destination in Eastern Europe,’ says Thilo Schmid, Chairman of the Management Board of Flughafen Köln/Bonn GmbH. ’Many people in our region have close ties to Kosovo, so the demand for a direct connection to the capital is high. Pristina is also attractive for tourists.’
Pristina was an important trading centre in Roman times and is characterised by a rich history and diverse cultural influences. The capital of the youngest European state has developed into a political, cultural and economic centre of South-East Europe in recent years. The most famous attractions include the Sultan Mehmet II al-Fātih Mosque and the Museum of Kosovo. The Gračanica Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Gadime Cave are also in the immediate vicinity.
In future, flights from Cologne/Bonn will depart on Fridays and Sundays. After a flight time of just under two and a half hours, the plane lands in Pristina. The return flight from Kosovo to the Rhineland operates on the same days of the week. Trade Air's Airbus 320 will be used for the flights. They can be booked at www.mysky24.com and www.airmunich.eu.
