New connections to Tuzla, Skopje and Tirana launched
Three inaugural flights in five days: Wizz Air has launched three new connections to Eastern Europe from Cologne Bonn Airport. On Friday (12 December), the first flight to Tuzla in Bosnia and Herzegovina took place, and on Monday (15 December), the airline celebrated the premiere of its new connection to the North Macedonian capital Skopje. Tirana in Albania became Wizz Air's third new destination on Tuesday (16 December). Since the end of October, Wizz Air has also been flying from Cologne/Bonn to Bucharest in Romania up to four times a week.
‘We are delighted that Wizz Air has returned to our airport with such a wide range of services, connecting it to four exciting destinations in this winter schedule,’ says Thilo Schmid, Chairman of the Management Board of Flughafen Köln/Bonn GmbH. ‘The new routes, including three capital city connections, enrich our flight schedule and offer our passengers additional travel options in the important Eastern European destination market.’
‘With the launch of these new routes, Wizz Air is contributing to stronger connectivity between Cologne Bonn Airport and key destinations in South-Eastern and Eastern Europe. The expanded network offers passengers more direct and affordable travel options and supports the region’s economic, social and cultural links with these important markets,’ says Anastasia Novak, Corporate & Sustainability Communications Manager at Wizz Air.
Tuzla and Tirana will be served up to three times a week during the winter months. Flights to Skopje will even take off four times a week. Another new connection will be added next summer: Wizz Air will fly to Podgorica from 2 June. The capital of Montenegro will then be on the flight schedule four times a week. All routes are available at www.wizzair.com and in the Wizz Air app.
