Check in
In many cases, you can check in conveniently online from home. You will then receive your boarding pass directly on your mobile phone and can show it digitally and/or bring it to the airport in printed form. Please check your airline's website or app for more information.
At Cologne Bonn Airport there are also check-in counters for various airlines, which open at different times before departure. Please check with your airline in advance, arrive at the airport in good time and allow sufficient waiting time. Tip: Some airlines offer an evening-before check-in service.
Self-service bag drop
At Cologne Bonn Airport, there are kiosks where you can check in your baggage yourself. Baggage labels can be printed out at self-bag drop-off stations and suitcases can be checked in independently at the counter.
This service is offered by Eurowings, Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines, as well as Ryanair. The kiosks of the entire Lufthansa Group are located in Terminal 1 in check-in area 100, while those of Ryanair are in check-in area 200.
Please note: oversized items of baggage, strollers, backpacks or special baggage cannot be checked in by passengers themselves. These must be handed in at the regular counter.
