New DNK report

A plane taking off from Cologne Bonn Airport

The current declaration is now publicly available on the Homepage of the Sustainability Code and the Airport Neighbourhood Portal.

The Sustainability Code is a cross-industry transparency standard developed by the German Council for Sustainable Development (RNE). It specifies 20 criteria and selected performance indicators that are used to record sustainability efforts on an annual basis.

With the declaration, the airport will implement the requirements of the EU's CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive), which will be mandatory from 2025. With its specific questions, the German Sustainability Code also provides a condensed, user-friendly and standardised framework for sustainability reporting. It is internationally recognised and provides comparable indicators - both for a company's own progress and for comparison with other companies.

The annual DNK declaration replaces the previous sustainability report at the airport, which was published every two years, and also forms the basis for further sustainability reporting.
