From 1 May, Eurowings will be flying to Chişinău in the Republic of Moldova. From July, three more destinations will be added to the Cologne-based airline's range: Samsun (from 8 July, Mondays) and Kayseri (from 11 July, Thursdays) in Turkey as well as Fez in Morocco (from 6 July, Saturdays).

The capital of the Republic of Moldova, Chişinău, is the political, economic and cultural centre of the country. The city on the river Bîc is considered a very green city with many large parks and is surrounded by a picturesque landscape of vineyards. Chişinău is home to a number of historical and cultural sights such as the National Theatre and a triumphal arch. The architecture reflects the eventful history of the region - from Soviet buildings to Orthodox churches.

Samsun, capital of the province of the same name in the north of Turkey, is located on the coast of the Black Sea and is the economic and cultural centre of the region. In addition to numerous sights and museums, the long sandy beach Atakum Beach is also worth a visit. From Amisos Hill you have a marvellous view of the surrounding area with its diverse nature. Samsun, which was already inhabited in ancient times, also plays a central role in Turkish history.

Kayseri is the capital of the Turkish province of Cappadocia. The city lies at an altitude of around 1,000 metres at the foot of the extinct Erciyes volcano, which created the tuff layers of Cappadocia. The city is famous for its air-dried beef ham (pastırma), the garlic sausage sucuk and the stuffed dumplings mantı. Worth seeing are the Grand Bazaar, the Grand Mosque, the fortress, the old town and the Archaeological Museum.

Fez is one of the four royal cities of Morocco. It has the oldest and largest medina (old town) in North Africa and is the religious, cultural and artisan centre of Morocco. Parts of the city have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and impress with their beauty, diversity and cultural richness. The second oldest mosque in the country, the Kairaouine Mosque, is located here. The Medersa Bou Inania, the historic gymnasium in the old town, has an inner courtyard with magnificent ornamentation. Also worth seeing are the city gates decorated with tiles and the colourful tanners' quarter.

The flight from Cologne/Bonn to Chişinău takes around two and a half hours. The flight to Samsun, Kayseri and the royal city of Fes takes just under four hours in each case. All new connections can be booked at www.eurowings.com.
